What is the XT Extended Warranty?
This is an extension to the 2 year standard warranty. It is only available for XT power tools registered online.
Is the Extended Warranty free of charge?
The extended warranty is a free extension to the standard Black & Decker 2 year warranty. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Will the Extended Warranty be included for all tools?
The extended warranty is available for all XT power tools registered online within 90 days of purchase.
What is not covered by the Extended Warranty?
Accessories, attachments, batteries, chargers and chucks are not included in the extended warranty. These are all carry the standard Black & Decker warranty
How do I register my tool?
You can register your tool online at www.blackanddecker.co.uk/xt - simply complete the form with all the correct details and you will receive an Extended Warranty Certificate.
How will I receive my Extended Warranty certificate?
You will receive your certificate by email if you have an email address. If you don’t have an email address, you can create a user name instead and once you have entered the information required, you can just print out the certificate afterwards.
How soon must I register my tool?
You must register your tool within 90 days of the purchase date.
Can I still register my tool after 90 days?
No, after 90 days of the purchase date you are no longer able to register for the Extended Warranty. However, the standard Black & Decker 2 year warranty will apply.
Is the sales receipt required as proof of purchase?
Yes, you will be required to keep your sales receipt for registration purposes and for making a warranty claim. Only this receipt provides accurate information on the tool purchase date.
How do I make an Extended Warranty claim?
To make a claim you will need to take your tool, sales receipt and Extended Warranty certificate to the vendor or your nearest authorised repairing agent. For details of your nearest agent, please go on-line at www.2helpU.com
Do I need to register all my tools individually?
Yes
Must I re-enter all personal details each time?
No. One you have registered and created an account, the system will remember your details.
What information is mandatory?

From which date will my warranty commence from?
The warranty commences from the date your tool was purchased.
Am I still entitled to a warranty claim without registering for the Extended Warranty”?
Yes, you will still be entitled to the 2 year standard warranty. However the extended warranty is only available if you have registered online.
I don’t agree with the ‘data protection and warranty terms’, can I still register my tool?
No, the ‘data protection and warranty terms’ field must be enabled, so that the terms are accepted, otherwise registration is not possible.
I made a mistake when entering the information required and printed out the incorrect certificate, what can I do?
Repeat the registration with the correct information and print out the certificate again.
How do I register if I have no internet access?
You can ask a friend to register your purchase for you, as long as all the details are correct and it is registered in your name, or there is internet access in all public libraries.
Where will I find the product number and date code on my tool?The product number can be found on the rating plate, which is located somewhere on the actual tool. Please see below for an example:
